The interior of the restaurant is beautifully designed and the old fashioned white tableclothes are nice to see. A client will be met in the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport with their name on the display. Was a little disappointed with where we were seated at a corner table facing another couple we felt it was just too close so we left and then came back about 20 minutes later I think the waiter was a little bit put out about us wanting to come back but honestly the seats were just to close! Apart from that all was good Irene Tip top and tasty! Let anyone coming up the stairs to the door on street level leave first - they're just making room for you! For me, the only thing that jarred were the black and white photos of historical places in Dublin, which I felt were not needed. If you are at all claustrophobic, avoid this bar altogether. I had a glass of sauvigneon blanc which was fab. Let's be original : This is soooooo tiny! My main course Shepherds Pie was extremely disappointing. It felt claustrophobic and it was extremely hot in the bar - very little is spent in the way of utilities in this joint as human body heat is enough to keep the space warm, er, um, hot. If your goal is to visit the supposed smallest bar in Dublin, then go ahead and do it but perhaps do it at an off-peak time.
Sit back, relax and sip your favourite brand of whiskey; neat, on the rocks or couple it with a refreshing mixer, to the sounds of our baby grand piano or funky background tunes. The wine list is overpriced. But this is what I like about the place. The service was excellent and there was not much waiting time between courses. Even with the frequency I visit here I never noticed this bar, ever.
Other than reputation, we knew very little about the food, quality and atmosphere in the restaurant area. It is not possible to extend the gift card beyond the stated 12 month validity period. Whilst my husband was in the washroom a member of staff also used the washroom and did not wash his hands!! Stephen's Green at the other.
